+The chance to gain speed decreases with your current speed, increases with your current [[Attribute:perception]], and increases for each failure (including times when you didn't pay for a new game) since your last success. The chance to gain speed starts at around 1/3 with default stats (5 speed and 5 perception). After 3 failures, it will have increased to around a 1/2 chance, and after 9 failures, it will have increased to a 2/3 chance. It never increases to a 100% chance.
